The 2018 edition of the Vladimir Film Festival (VFF) in Russia has set to screen Iranian short animation ‘Bystander’.
The short animation will be screened at the main competition section of the VFF.
Directed by Sheyda Kashi, ‘Bystander’ is a cinematic depiction of society that does not accept differences and is heading for annihilation.
It is about an old man who is living behind a window from where he sees a dark world and remembers his past when he was an active revolutionary.
The animation recently won Best Animation award at the 2018 Light of the World Film Festival in Russia, the second prize in the animation or experimental film section of the 21st Faludi International Youth Film Festival and Photo Competition in Hungary, and an award at “Творящие добро” section of the 2018 International Festival of Cinema and Television Taganay muses in Russia.
It was also screened at several film events, including the 5th Arkadia ShortFest International Shortfilm Festival in Romania, the 2018 FIFAK- International Amateur Film Festival of Kelibia in Tunisia, the 4th Tehran International Animation Festival and the 15th Tirana International Film Festival in Albania.
The Iranian piece is also scheduled to go on screen at the 1st Oregon Cinema Arts Film Festival and the 11th Iranian Film Festival of San Francisco in the US, as well as the 3rd Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq.
Every year the VFF brings new movies, video and photo materials by many authors across the globe.
The 2018 edition of the VFF is slated for September 27-30, 2018.
